There's nothing like a Grateful Dead show. That's a motto I can agree with. The first time I saw them I camped in the Alpine Valley parking lot for close to a week in one hundred degree heat, and it was a party the whole time. Bob Dylan had played the night before and the Dead had four shows over the following five nights. At least to the best of my recollection. After years of legendary live shows, the Grateful Dead entered the charts with In the Dark in 1987. The album rose to number six on the Billboard 200 chart, while the lead-off single "Touch of Grey" went to #1. Even though this album really exposed the band to the 'washed' masses, it still contains some great songs, such as "West L.A. Fadeaway", "When Push Comes to Shove" and "Hell in a Bucket." Some of the best Dead shows I witnessed kicked off with "Hell in a Bucket." Great song. Hilariously uncomfortable video. Grab a frosty drink and let's enjoy the ride.
