I only saw G'nR once and it was at Farm Aid IV in Indianapolis. Axl hails from the Hoosier state, so it kind of made sense. It ended up being the last time the original line-up performed together. Not soon after, drummer Steven Adler was booted from the band.

Since coming to Rockford, I've been told of many epic shows that occurred in town. The Stones playing the Metrocentre in 1981, Cheap Trick playing as they were building toward superstardom, and Guns 'n Roses at the Coronado just as the band broke big in 1988. That must've been a great night of loud anarchy on that stage.

On this day in 2012, the esteemed Slash received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The man was out of his mind during G'nR's heyday, dealing with addictions and substance abuse problems. Ironically, his friend Charlie Sheen was the presenter of the star. Slash has kept the top hat but has mellowed out quite a bit. The man can play the hell out of his Gibson Les Paul.  Here is the band live from the Ritz in NYC in 1988, blazing through "Mr. Brownstone," today's Brizz Record Bin tune.
