When I prepare the Brizz Record Bin, I sometimes link it with an event in history or an artist's birthday. Every once in a while, I really need to do some mental gymnastics. Here is my reasoning for getting this great midwestern classic on the Record Bin today:

Today is actor Ted McGinley's fifty-sixth birthday. Ted played the lead jock in 'Revenge of the Nerds' and most famously played Jefferson D'Arcy on the greatest show in history (along with Breaking Bad), 'Married...with Children.'  That show was set in the Chicago area and the opening of every episode featured a nice shot of the Chicago skyline looking south down Lake Shore Drive. This brings me to today Record Bin. In 1971, Chicago-based band Aliotta Haynes and Jeremiah released their album, 'Lake Shore Drive.' The title-cut that kicks off the album brings an instant smile to my face. For everyone in northern Illinois, it is a rite of passage to spend all night in Chicago only to wind up on LSD at daybreak. Lake Shore Drive. The highway of foggy memories. Foggy good memories.
