It's a very excellent time to be a musician or fan in the Rockford area scene with lots of new exciting things brewing.

The Rockford Music Scene Runs Deeper Than Just Cheap Trick

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Cheap Trick and think they're an amazing band. It's a great group of musicians for Rockford to hang their hat on. But, if you do some research about the whole music scene in the Forest City, I believe you'll find many other incredible players from our town.

New Music Venue Opening In Rockford

In my opinion, you can never have enough live music venues. Especially, if they're each unique in their own way. The music scene is really starting to explode again in our community. Fans have more options, which is always nice. Just think, this is all before the Hard Rock Casino even opens. There's a new one coming soon to Rockford and music fans are excited for many reasons.

According to rrstar.com,

The Music Box, at 218 E. State St., the former home of The Midwest Rustic, will be an "upscale listening room and bar located in the heart of historic downtown Rockford," according to the venue's Facebook page.

"The Music Box is going to be focused on creating a local social establishment that honors Rockford's rich history celebrating music and desires to help inspire a return to a more vibrant atmosphere downtown," the Facebook page says, adding that the venue includes a partnership with musicians Kelly Steward and Miles Nielsen, who plan to bring in local and national artists.
