The summertime in Illinois is my favorite time of year to attend concerts and one of the best outdoor venues in the state is located in Rockford and they just announced their schedule for this season.

The Sinnissippi Music Shell in Rockford is one of the most iconic locations in Illinois. Just being there will blow your mind but when the music starts, your experience will go to a whole other level. The sound and vibe make it one of the best outdoor venues for a live show.

Each year, the residents of the Forest City look forward to the release of the summer concert series schedule for Sinnissippi Music Shell. The Rockford Park District has upped its game and this year the shows are going to rock.

These shows feature tribute bands paying homage to some of the biggest groups of all time. The series is on Thursday nights and the shows kick off at 7. The cover is just $5. Seats are first come, first serve.

This concert series is for the whole family, even your dog as long as it's on a leash. There will be food and beverages available for sale but you can also bring your picnic. You'll get home early enough so you won't be tired the next day for work.
