I grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, surviving on a steady diet of Joe Walsh, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin and other REAL rock 'n roll artists. I moved to Colorado in the mid-80's and began my radio career there, working all over the state including Aspen and Vail. I moved to the Stateline in April 2001 and am lucky to call it home. My 2 boys go to school here and we have our favorite record shops, restaurants and hangouts spread out all over the Stateline!

Brizz Record Bin- Grateful Dead “Shakedown Street” [VIDEO]
In 1978, just about every artist dipped their toe into the disco pool. It's present throughout Pink Floyd's epic The Wall (1979). The Rolling Stones played with it on "Miss You." Even the Grateful Dead got funky on Shakedown Street (1978). It was produced by Little Feat's Lowell George and like most Dead studio efforts, the music was better served up live...
Rockfordians Walk on Thin Ice [VIDEO]
There are a few surefire ways of getting yourself killed. You can drive your car around a railroad crossing as a train is barrelling down the tracks. You can kneel down and blow directly into a feral dog's face. Or if you really want to test the boundaries, you can walk on a frozen river when the temperatures rise above 32°...
Girl Feeds Pit Bulls, People Freak Out [VIDEO]
Growing up we only had dogs a couple of times and one was hit by a car and the other we had to find a new home for when we were moving to a place that didn't allow pets. I loved Smokey and Dusty but they were both gone before I had made many memories with either...
Roller Derby Double Header in Rockford [VIDEO]
My friends from the Rockford Rage roller derby team joined me in the studio today and intimidated me again. Sure, they're all smiles and polite, but with names like Chelsea Manhandler, Bouncing Betty, Margotron and Nitro they can't help but get a guy shakin' in his boots.
Brizz Record Bin- Yes “Going for the One” [VIDEO]
No, it can't be true. Yes is not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. This isn't some take on the "Who's on First" Abbott and Costello comedy skit. The band Yes is not in the hall of fame. It's one of many outrages when it comes to that questionable institution on shores of the once flammable Lake Erie in Cleveland...
When Robots Fail [VIDEO]
It seems inevitable, doesn't it? It is not a question of if, but when. Robots will run the world and humans will just be here to do their bidding in a cosmic ironic twist. That's why I felt a sense of relief when I saw these idiot robots screwing up worse than Jeff Spicoli in History class at Ridgemont High.
Celebs Blow on the Red Carpet [VIDEO]
My expertise in writing headlines knows no bounds. That's exactly what the following video shows; celebrities put their vanity on hold for a moment to blow. They lined up to
Brizz Record Bin- Rolling Stones “You Got the Silver” [VIDEO]
Keith Richards autobiography holds a special spot in my life. In 2010, my father was very sick and I made multiple trips to see him in Colorado that year. I was losing my hero and my best friend. It was not easy.
Brizz Record Bin- The Doors “Five to One” [VIDEO]
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you talk about The Doors? Jim Morrison of course. The other three guys were no slouches either. The origins of the band started when Ray Manzarek met Morrison at UCLA in 1965, before adding John Densmore on drums and Robbie Krieger on guitar...
A Rock ‘n Roll Rejects Weekend [VIDEOS]
The Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2015 is a pretty good one for a change. Like picking up the beer cans on my front lawn from my jackweed neighbors every summer morning, this is an annual pastime I love to hate. Though like I said, this year isn't too bad at all...
