The "Friends of the Coronado" (I proudly sit on the board) are providing you with a virtual tour of my favorite place in all of Rockford, the Coronado Performing Arts Center.

The Coronado Performing Arts Center was established in 1927 and has been the location for some amazing live performances, and a movie or two. The building holds so much rich tradition and is highly respected by some influential names from around the world. President Kennedy was here in 1960, Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Judy Garland, the list goes on and on.

Personally, I went to a show at the Coronado for the first time back on April 29th 1988. Guns n Roses. I tell people that GnR played there and to this day, some don't believe me. Over the years I've seen Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Foreigner, etc etc....

Hopefully the day returns soon, when we can do some guided tours of Rockford's Crown Jewel but for now there is a very entertaining and informative virtual tour available here:

There is also the idea of "ghosts" at the Coronado PAC. There have been sightings by visitors, employees and people looking from across the street. There is a "ghost" tour that is available in person as well, hopefully that returns soon as well.

I received a guided tour and learned a lot about ghosts and other unknown Coronado facts, here:

If you would like to donate to the Coronado PAC, you can use the link HERE.

TIPS: Here's how you can prepare for power outages
