Street Closures Announced for St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Some streets will be closed in Rockford during the holiday weekend.

St. Patrick's Day is one of the best holidays around. It's always so much fun, filled with laughter, green (my favorite color) and parades! Who doesn't love a good parade!?

The annual Irish Marching Society parade is coming back again and will start at 3 p.m. on Saturday. According to WTVO, the parade route is changing this year.

The parade will begin at 7th Street and 4th Avenue. It will then proceed north on 7th to State, west to Main Street and then north on Main to Memorial Hall north of Mulberry Street.

Closures of main streets and smaller streets that intersect the route will begin at least an hour before the parade.

I love St. Patrick's Day! The parade is always my favorite part. Of course my friends and I always dress up as green as possible!

Make sure to be safe this holiday weekend, wear your green and call an Uber ride or have a designated driver.
