A couple of years ago, during the 4th of July weekend, our daughter was with some friends, so my wife and I decided to go on an adventure-type road trip. We headed west on Route 20. We ended up in a little Wisconsin town named Monroe.

Monroe is a nice little town in Wisconsin. That's when we first discovered Baumgartner’s Cheese Store & Tavern. We had a delicious meal, but we did spot something quite unusual on the menu. I never even heard of it before.

That was a Limburger cheese sandwich. In fact, it's the most popular item on the menu and famous throughout Wisconsin. So, what's so special about a cheese sandwich? Well, it's a stinky cheese with an interesting taste. I would never eat something like that, but many people enjoy eating it.
