I'm kidding... kind of.

According to a new study done by Zippia ranks the laziest cities in all of America.

Congratulations Rockford, we made the list!

Here are the top 10 laziest cities in America:

  1. Dayton, OH
  2. Toledo, OH
  3. Springfield, MA
  4. Rochester, NY
  5. Syracuse, NY
  6. Cleveland, OH
  7. Akron, OH
  8. Buffalo, NY
  9. Rockford, IL
  10. Detroit, MI

How this ranking was determined was by combining different information provided by the American Community Survey from the Census Bureau.

This included information on hours worked per week, commute time, unemployment rate and more.

Here's the thing: Rockford residents aren't lazy. Well, for the most part. I mean, the hours worked per week (37.4) isn't that low; the commute (20 minutes) isn't too much of a breeze; and the college graduation rate ... Well, at least some of these guys went to college.

But where it really got hit in our rankings was for its unemployment rate—at 15.5, it’s the 11th highest out of 200 cities. So sure, Rockford is lazy. It just may not be by choice.

Well, there may be some truth in that. What do you think?
