This weekend a local sports memorabilia exhibit debuts at the Rockford Ethnic Heritage Museum.

I've lived in Rockford for a long time, but there are still things that I've never experienced in town.

Thanks to Andrea from the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, I've had the opportunity to check some of those things out.

It's a segment called "Things Double T Has Never Done In Rockford."

One of the places I visited for the first time was the Rockford Ethnic Heritage Museum. It's definitely a hidden gem here in the Forest City.

Here's the video from that episode.

The Rockford Ethnic Heritage Museum might not be on your radar, but here's something you might want to check out.

This Sunday, August 5th they will be unveiling their fall exhibit.

It's "Judge Yarbrough's Sports Memorabilia."

This new display will feature items from the Chicago Cubs (past and present), Rockford IceHogs, Rockford Rivets, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and more.

Rockford IceHogs mascot, Hammy, will be there for the kickoff.

The museum is open every Sunday 2pm - 4pm.

For more information, check out HERE.

The items are from Judge K. Patrick Yarbrough's personal collection. He is Supervising Judge of the Juvenile Division, 17th Judicial Circuit of the State of Illinois. He was also Winnebago County's first African American Judge.
