When it comes to professional baseball, I grew up in an interesting household. We were fans of both the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox. I'm not exactly sure how that happened, but I was lucky enough to attend many games at each stadium. It's funny because both are completely different experiences. I think it's great that both teams are having a good season. The summer is much better when both teams are good. Plus, it makes the Crosstown Classic so much more meaningful.

Chicago baseball fans have been packing Wrigley and Rate fields this year as the Cubs and White Sox push for the playoffs. But in some cases, the action on the field has been overshadowed by the hijinks in the stands.

I understand that Rate Field has a much worse reputation for trouble than Wrigley Field, but Cubs fans are no angels. I've witnessed plenty of problems and fights on the North Side of Chicago too. Back in the 1990s, I had friends who lived in Wrigleyville, and we would go to all three games of the Crosstown Classic. There were times when it would become a war zone between the two fanbases.

The big question is which stadium has had the most arrests during a Crosstown Classic series in its home ballpark. Over the last five years, from 2021 to this season, there have been 104 total fan arrests. Out of those issues, 56 of them occurred at Rate Field and 48 at Wrigley Field. It's not surprising that most of those busts involved fighting. During those games, 10 people have been arrested at Rate Field for running onto the field and only 4 at Wrigley. In the grand scheme of things, that's not too bad considering thousands of fans are attending those games. Too bad there's gotta be idiots to ruin the fun.
