Football History At IL Museum With Bears Focused Exhibition

Bear Down: Football in the Windy City Is New Exhibit Illinois Museum

When it comes to museums, we are really lucky here in Illinois. Of course, there are the major ones that are in Chicago, but you can find many other interesting places throughout our state. Those smaller museums focus on local history. My mom volunteers for the historic society in her hometown, so I've learned a lot about these types of museums for many years.

Bear Down: Football in the Windy City will take visitors on an unforgettable journey through the history of football in Chicagoland.

One of these smaller museums in Illinois is the Elmhurst History Museum. My mom lives nearby, so I've been there a few times. They've had some pretty cool exhibits through the years, for example, Disco Demolition Night and one about amusement parks. I'm really excited for their new one because it's about the Chicago Bears and football in Illinois.

This new exhibit at the Elmhurst History Museum is called Bear Down: Football in the Windy City. It will be on display from now until January 24th. It's free to get in, but they do recommend making a $5 donation. Not only will they cover the history of the Chicago Bears, but also the history of football played in Illinois. They'll feature the many different pro and semi-pro teams, along with the different leagues, playing fields, and players. If you're a fan of football, you'll definitely want to check it out.
