This Small Wisconsin Town Has A Special Connection To "The Wizard Of Oz"
One of the greatest movies of all time is "The Wizard of Oz." I remember watching it for the first time as a young child and being blown away. When I was growing up, they only showed it a couple of times of year on TV. That made it so special. It was great sharing it with my daughter when she was little. It's been a long time, I might have to go back and watch again. I think the last time I watch it was at the Rockford Theater back in the late 90s when it was part of show synced up to Pink Floyd's "Darkside of the Moon."

This Hidden Gem Wizard Of Oz Attraction In Wisconsin Is Totally Worth The Visit

Here is an interesting fact about a connection between a small town in Wisconsin and the legendary movie, "The Wizard of Oz." Back on August 12th in 1939, The Strand Theater in Oconomowoc hosted the world premiere of "The Wizard of Oz." Before the full theatrical release of the film, MGM decided to host the first showing at a handful of theaters in the Midwest, and this Wisconsin town was chosen to be one of them.
The town of Oconomowoc is so proud of that fact, they decided to commemorate it with a very special attraction. It's called Oz Plaza. It has a yellow brick road, life size statues of the main characters, artwork, information panels, plenty of opportunities for amazing selfies, and so much more. The best is it's completely free to enjoy. Plus, it's open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
