In my younger days, I was a big fan of attending any and all holiday parties that I was invited to. As I got older, that novelty wore off. Now in my world, the fewer, the better. I'm at the point where, if you can't or don't invite me, it's all good. You're actually doing me a favor. The free drinks and food aren't an attraction for an older guy like myself. It better be something special to get me off the couch.

I've actually worked for companies that made holiday parties mandatory. That makes me want to go even less. Here at the radio station, they host a small luncheon for us in the building, which is perfect for me. A couple of years ago, our boss held our yearly employee get-together at an IceHogs game. Now, that was really cool. I'll attend something like that every time.
