Rockford Family in Need of Clothes, Shoes After Losing Everything in Fire This Week
After losing everything in a fire this week on State Street in Rockford, a family asks for donations on GoFundMe.
Can you imagine what it would be like to wake up one day and realize you've lost everything? Your home went up in flames and you're left only with the clothes you're wearing and what items you happen to have in your car.
It's an idea we think about from time to time but most of us hopefully will never have to experience it.
Unfortunately this week a family in Rockford did have to experience this.
Maria, Kenya and Angela need our help.
Kenya's grandmother, Rosy Garcia, created this GoFundMe account to help her daughter and granddaughters after a devastating fire.
Rosy writes: Maria, Kenya and Angela lost everything in a house fire yesterday May 07 on State St. They lost Their 3 Cats and all their belongings.
Please help in anyway you can.
Rosy is hoping to raise $10,000 to help her family, so far she is just under $3,000.
Kenya also plays on an intermural soccer team here in the area and the girls on the team have been coming together to collect items for the family.
They are looking for clothes, shoes, food, general necessities.
If you have any of these items, please Kristine Frank on Facebook.
