We'll be covering the whole game with special guests during our Friday Night Hoops broadcast.

Rockford has seen some great basketball players and coaches pass through their ranks and no list of Rockford basketball legends would be complete without the addition of Paul Perrone, the current Head Girl's Basketball coach at Boylan high school.

Coach Perrone goes for win number 500 when his Titans host East this Friday night at Boylan High School.

Myself and his brother (who has some decent coaching credentials of his own) will once again be on the call for our Friday Night Hoops broadcast on 1440 WROK. We will be joined by some of the people from his basketball past throughout the broadcast to share some stories about Perrone's historic career.

As of now the guest list includes former coaching partners Don Tresmer, Jim Leix, Steve Goers, and former player Aminata Yanni.

Perrone's first varsity win came in December of 1991 when he was the coach of the Harlem Girl's team, his 500th could come more than 30 years later Friday night.

Perrone's coaching career started in 1973 as the boy's eighth grade coach at St. James Elementary school. Over the next 45 years his coaching career would take him to various other elementary schools for girl's basketball, assistant Boy's Sophomore and Head Freshman coach at Harlem, assistant Boy's varsity at Boylan, head Varsity Girl's at Harlem, and the last 13 years as head Girl's coach at Boylan.

Perrone send out an email this week thanking those who have made this journey possible.

As coaches, we do NOT set out for personal goals but when milestones arrive we do take time to celebrate. Coaches understand they do not achieve victories on their own. During my journey I have been blessed with many fine young ladies/players.

We're honored to be a part of this celebration and should have a great time doing it.

Boylan and East tip off at 730 Friday night. Pregame coverage will begin about 15 minutes prior.
