When it comes to that hard rock guitar sound that defined so much of the 70s rock scene, I think it was Michael Schenker's style and sound that paved the way to the metal of the 80s the most. Whenever I discuss guitar players with rock dudes, we always agree that Schenker's stuff was, is and will always be rock solid.
