New Illinois Law Allows Removal Of Gun Ownership Rights
IL Governor Bruce Rauner just signed a bill allowing judges to decide if gun ownership rights should be removed from an individual and the reason is hard to argue.
The governor says he signed House Bill 2354 (a.k.a. Red Flag Bill) for two primary reasons, no longer allowing guns to be "kept in the hands of individuals who are mentally unstable or deemed to be dangerous" and "step forward to increase safety for the people of our state.

Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner signed a gun safety bill on Monday which allows courts to remove firearms from a person they believe could hurt someone or even themselves. Rauner says the legislation could prevent a tragedy.
As expected, the NRA is against such laws and, although I'm not a gun owner, it seems hard to argue the merit behind the new law.
