The number of guns seized at airports in the United States in 2019 was the most ever.

I have trouble understanding why people still try to do it. Did they not see the signs? Never watch the news? Don't have the internet? I believe it's a known fact, you can't bring a gun on a plane without going through the proper procedure. It's against the law if you don't. Yet, passengers are still getting busted. It's not just a few, there are a lot of people trying it.

According to tmj4.com,

"More guns were recovered at airports across the country in 2019 than ever before in the history of the Transportation Security Administration. According to TSA, 4,432 firearms were discovered in carry-on bags or on passengers at checkpoints across the country. Of those, TSA says 87% were loaded."

If you feel it necessary, here's the proper way to do it.

"Passengers can travel with firearms in a checked bag if they are unloaded, packed in a locked hard-sided case, and ammunition is in its original box, even if the box is not full (it can be packed inside the hard case). You need to declare your firearm at the ticket counter while checking your bag,"

What's the penalty, if you're caught?

"Travelers who bring firearms to checkpoints could face criminal charges and federal civil penalties of up to $13,000. TSA says a typical first offense for carrying a handgun into a checkpoint is $4,100."

I forgot is not a valid excuse.
