75th Anniversary Of Iconic Outdoor Theater In Wisconsin
I remember when my parents would take me to the drive-in movie theater as a kid. I thought it was so cool. Dressed in my pajamas and sitting in the back seat with pillows and blankets. Plus, I got to eat some tasty treats in the car, which my dad wouldn't normally allow. It was just a special way to watch a flick.

Then, when I was old enough to drive, I enjoyed going to the outdoor theater with friends. Being able to take my daughter and wife to the drive-in is a memory I won't forget. If you haven't ever been or it's been a long time, I highly suggest going to one sometime this year before the season is over.
The outdoor theater industry is a tough one to survive in. There's so much competition for entertainment. Owners of these drive-ins are in it for the love of the experience. That's why the Skyway Drive-In Theatre in the Door County area is something special.

According to Wisconsin Public Radio...
Skyway opened in 1950 under the ownership of Orville and Elton Voeks, and it is the longest continuously running drive-in movie theater in Wisconsin.
This summer, it is celebrating 75 years of showing movies under the stars in Door County.
Now, Jacobson owns and operates Skyway with his brother, Jeff, after buying it from their parents in 1999 as a way to continue the family business.
