March Madness should be the start of legal sports gambling in Illinois.

Lookout "Sin City," Illinois is coming after you. You don't even have to get on an airplane to enjoy the same activities. Up next, gambling on sports. Could you imagine if you were able to make real bets on the Super Bowl instead of that little office pool? Skip that March Madness bracket with your buddies, because the Sportsbooks will be opening soon in the Land of Lincoln."

According to chicagotribune.com,

"It’s a good bet the first Illinois sportsbooks will be open by March Madness. The Illinois Gaming Board issued rules governing operations. Those rules, which cover everything from how to place bets to what equipment to use, were unanimously approved by the board at its meeting. The gaming board is reviewing the applications and plans to issue temporary operating permits to allow the sportsbooks to launch “as soon as they are ready to do so.” Sports betting locations will be able to offer online betting as well, but that will likely come after the bricks-and-mortar facilities open."
