When it comes to taxing candy, Illinois has a different way of doing it.

I think we can all agree, when it comes to taxes in Illinois, they will do all they can to get our money. At times, they have unique ways of doing it. To make things confusing, for every tax law there is an exception to the rule.

The website msn.com recently did a story about "Strange But real Tax Laws From all 50 States."

What did they find for Illinois? Candy.

"In Illinois, Twix bars aren't taxed because they are made with flour, so they don't meet the state's definition of candy. Other Mars candy bars such as Snickers are taxed because they contain no flour."

The moral of this story is if you're going to create a new candy bar in Illinois, make sure you make it with flour.
