The Rockford IceHogs may have announced their interim head coach, but I have a great idea for a permanent replacement for the position.

The craziness started this morning when the news was released that the Chicago Blackhawks fired their head coach, Joel Quenneville.

At that point, they named the Rockford IceHogs head coach, Jeremy Colliton, as Coach Q's replacement.

Then IceHogs assistant coach, Derek King, has been named "interim" head coach for Rockford.

Wow, that's a lot of movement for one morning.

I noticed that Coach King currently has just interim status. That means he's not the permanent replacement at this time.

Don't get me wrong. I've met Derek. He's a good guy and an excellent hockey coach, but I have another idea to suggest to the team.

I would like to throw my hat in the ring for the gig.

I've spent a lot of time watching hockey in my life. Especially, in Rockford.

In the fall of 2011, I coached the Rockford IceHogs alumni team when they played against the Chicago Blackhawks alumni team.

Early this year, I helped coach a Junior IceHogs squad. Check out the video...

So as you can see, I've got time behind the bench.

A couple of other points...

I've worked for the team for several years, so I wouldn't have to fill out any paperwork.

Also, recently I purchased a suit.

All I'm looking for is an interview. I'm confident I can sell myself given the chance.

Oh, by the way, I've got experience on the ice.
