How was your Thanksgiving weekend? Mine was great, thanks for asking. I started off the extended break with a party at Pig Mind's, knocking back great beer and listening to some fine local music. Thanksgiving Day, I skipped the turkey and went to see "Dumb and Dumber To". It was OK, but how can it really hold up to the original? Would "Citizen Kane II: Rosebud's Revenge" be as good as the classic first film? Of course not. Oh, and the Bears lost Thursday. Who saw that coming?

After spending a couple of early morning hours at Blain's Farm and Fleet on Friday morning, I took the scenic route back home and saw my third bald eagle of the season. For many reasons, that is always my favorite part of this time of year and few things make me smile wider than watching them soaring, fishing or just perched above the river.

There is no tougher Monday than one that follows vacation or a long holiday weekend. This is one of those days. So for no other reason that to put a smile on some faces, enjoy this video of Challenger, a 25 year-old bald eagle that flew around the stadium prior to the Bengals vs Cowboys game on November 23. Challenger was rehabbed as a young bird and is unable to be released back into the wild.

With a Go-Pro camera strapped to his back, Challenger really seems to be taking in the applause as he completes a tour around the arena.
