Five Things I Learned Running Insane Inflatable 5K
I ran my first Insane Inflatable 5k on Saturday, and it was amazing.
As much as I hit the the gym, hit the weights, get my cardio in etc I don't think there really is a way to prepare for such an "Insane" event.
The nervous energy of doing something like this is huge. You want to do well, you want to have a blast, and you don't want "hey did you see Captain Jack land flat on his face"!
The Insane Inflatable people do such a great job of getting you pumped up, by the time to horn goes off you are pretty jacked.
So with my first running here are 5 things about The Insane Inflatable 5K that I learned.
- A good pair of shoes is where it's at - I wore my Adidas Shells, not great running shoes.
- Try not to be a Super Hero - With each obstacle I was on a mission to one up my teenage boys. Energy level was shot at the end.
- Keep looking forward - With each obstacle you may be climbing a steep climb, or rolling down. Keeping your eyes focused on what's ahead is key.
- Use the group you're with or another - Traveling in a pack helps the mental part of it, staying together will motivate you.
- This was beyond fun - Want an event where you work, sweat, and have a blast? Trust me, Insane Inflatable 5K is the way to go.
Thanks to all that participated, look forward to doing it again next year. Until then are you ready to get Geek'd??
