The Insane Inflatable 5k is coming up August 27th, make sure you have the proper fuel in your system.

Now you don't have to be this crazy athlete to participate on August 27th, but making sure you are fueled up is pretty important.

While being a crazy Cross Fit junkie, a marathon runner or whatever isn't needed making sure you don't run out of energy is super important. That is where carbs come in. Carbohydrates provide energy, and if you eat the RIGHT ONES you will be good to go the entire 5k.

Let's start with the good carbs to consume for energy:

  • Green Veggies
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Brown Rice
  • Fruit (berries, melon, oranges, grapes)
  • Almonds

Here are the bad carbs:

  • Potato Chips
  • Soda
  • Candy
  • Pop Corn
  • Dried Fruit

Seems pretty simple, right? Stay away from the sugars before you run and have a blast at Insane Inflatables and you will have good energy to burn! While the sugar rush will give you that instant buzz, it will burn off quick and make you feel sluggish and tired.
