Chicago Bears Coin Toss Win Streak Ends
The Chicago Bears won 14 coin flips in a row, how many do you think Double T can get?
To start every football game there is a coin toss to determine who gets the ball first.
Logic would say when I flip a coin, there are two possible outcomes. It's either heads or tails. That means I have a 50/50 shot of winning.
I remember playing "Heads or Tails" with friends and it would bounce back and forth. I may have won a couple games in a row, but it would balance out and my friend would too.
During the high school football season, my coach told the captain making the call to pick tails. He believed in the old saying, "Tails Never Fails." Of course, we didn't win all the coin flips in a season.
The Chicago Bears might not have a winning record on the field, but they were on a roll with the coin toss.
According to wgntv.com, "The Chicago Bears won 14 consecutive coin tosses."
Unfortunately, that streak ended on Monday night.
That is remarkable. How were they able to do that?
I decided to give it a try. I realize I won't get 14 in a row, but I wonder how many I could get of the same side. I flipped a coin 14 times. I would call tails. Here are my results.

Out of the 14 flips... 8 tails and 6 heads.
I can't imagine getting 14 in a row correct.
What are the odds of this happening?
According to nbcsports.com
"The odds of winning 14 straight coin tosses like the Bears did is 1 in 16,384"
The most I got of the same in the row was three tails.
I sure hope Head Coach, John Fox, went out and bought a lottery ticket.
