Cheap Trick's Daxx Nielsen Is Excited About Loves Park Show

Daxx Nielsen, the drummer from Cheap Trick, is excited about their upcoming hometown show in Loves Park.

Concerts Are Back

I feel like a kid on Christmas because concerts are coming back. Going to shows is pretty much my hobby. They have been away far too long.

There is a big festival coming to the area. This is going to be awesome. It is the Long Play Music Fest happening on the Fourth of July weekend at Rivets Stadium in Loves Park. It is going to feature food, beverages, carnival, rides, fireworks, and two stages of live music.

Cheap Trick is playing on the 4th to wrap up this incredible event. For more info, HERE.

Daxx is a regular on my show, so he called in to talk about this upcoming hometown show for him and the boys from Cheap Trick. Of course, they are all very excited.

Cheap Trick Is Ready

Cheap Trick is one of those bands that is always working. Normally, they tour all year long with only a few short breaks. It has been over a year since they have been out, so they are ready to roll.

In the meantime, they released a new album, "In Another World" and it rocks. If you have not yet, I highly recommend checking it out.

I think this might be my favorite song off the new record.

It Has Been A While

It has been a while since Cheap Trick played in the Rockford area. Their last show here was at the Coronado Performing Arts Center on November 21st, 2015.

The last time they did an outdoor show in this area was at On The Waterfront on September 2nd, 2006.

The last time they had a concert on the Fourth of July nearby was in 1979 at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds.

Their last show before the pandemic was in February of 2020.

This is going to be a fun night.
