Your Votes Tallied: Brookfield Zoo Wolf Pups Have Names
Thanks to your votes, four baby wolf pups at Brookfield Zoo now have new names.
I was so excited when I found out we were given the opportunity to help name baby wolf pups.
One of the wolf pups already had a name, Nestor. He was named Nestor by the zoo’s staff, in memory of Ernesta, a female wolf who lived in the zoo from 2010-2012 before being released into the wild, WGN reports.
The names that were being voted on for the one female pup and the two male pups were as followed:
Female Pup (1)
- Magdalena
- Artesia
- Winona
Male Pup (1)
- Inigo
- Fausto
- Chavo
Male Pup (2)
- Coronado
- Aldo
- Hector
The adorable wolves now have their names. Each of the names that were choices in voting all have special meanings.
Indigo: a Spanish name meaning 'fiery'
Aldo: conservationist and environmentalist Aldo Leopold
Magdalena: a village in New Mexico
I can't wait to go to the zoo and visit with the baby pups.
