Rockford Celebrates IceHogs Season Opener With Free Block Party

The Rockford IceHogs will open the season at home against a division rival, and the team will host their annual block party before the game for the fans.

This has become part of the Rockford IceHogs opening night tradition. It's the annual Opening Night Block Party. Make plans to get down to the BMO Center early to hang out with your fellow fans and cheer on the team.

The Rockford IceHogs 2026-27 season will start with an Opening Night Block Party presented by Hard Rock Casino-Rockford on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 4-6:30 p.m. outside the BMO Center.

Details for the Rockford IceHogs annual Opening Night Block Party...

• Start of the 2026-2027 season

• Saturday, October 3rd (regular season & home opener)

• 4:30pm to 6pm

• All ages (all are welcome)

• Free admission (no tickets needed)

• Outside BMO Center (corner of Main St. & Elm St.)

• Presented by Hard Rock Casino Rockford

• Live music from That 70's Band (covering the best rock, pop, & disco songs from the 1970s)

• Food trucks including: Blaz'in Magic BBQ, Cheezy's Grilled Cheeses, & Olivo Taco

• Free coffee samples from Fire Department Coffee

• Craft beer tasting with LaMonica Beverages (21 & older)

• Kids activities including inflatable street hockey rink

• T-shirt giveaway to the first 3,000 fans thanks to Hard Rock Casino Rockford

• Red-carpet walk by the IceHogs players at 4:30pm

• White Out Game: IceHogs will wear the Screw City white jerseys, and fans are encouraged to wear all white to the game.

• Hosted by Double T from 96.7 The Eagle

• Game time is 7pm vs Milwaukee Admirals (tickets needed to attend the game)
