Two Wisconsin Schools Found Solutions To The Cell Phone In Class Issue

Just when teachers thought all hope was lost, two schools in Wisconsin have found solutions to the cell phone in-class issue. Of course, the students are not happy about it. I'm sure they are just waiting for some parents to protest over the controversial methods.

Wisconsin School Solution To Cell Phone In Class Problem

According to tmj4.com, 

Germantown School District

If a student is caught using their phone in school, they are given a fine.

Principal Farren says a student’s first citation can come with a ticket of $250 for students who are 14 to 17 years old.

 

A third citation costs a student nearly $500, but just 13 students actually had to pay a fine last school year due to a violation.

St. Catherine’s High School In Racine

This school uses a new way to prevent phone usage. Some comedians and bands have been using it at their shows. They don't want fans filming their performances to post on the internet, so they make them lock up their devices before entering.

Principal Michael Arendt says the school purchased high-tech pouches for every student last winter to make sure they can’t access their phones in class.

Only time will tell if these methods work but at least they are trying. Most schools have just given up.
