Vintage Cheap Trick Shirt Featuring Rockford Bar On eBay For $449
A vintage Cheap Trick shirt featuring a Rockford bar on the back is currently for sale on eBay for $449.
I am a big fan of concert t-shirts. They are a big part of my wardrobe and I wear them all the time. My collection is way too big and goes back many years. I do not even want to think about how much money I have spent on them.
I especially like the vintage ones. Unless I have gotten them at a show myself, they are usually too expensive to purchase now unless it is a remake. I sometimes like to check out eBay to see if I can find any that I used to own back in high school.
I still remember my very first band shirt. It had Ozzy on the front and Motley Crue on the back. I bought it at the show outside the venue. That is a subject for a different day, the bootleg parking lot shirts.
A couple of months ago I found a remake of the Monsters of Rock tour shirt from Alpine Valley. I did not have enough money that day to buy one so I was very excited to find it.
I was in the market for a new Cheap Trick shirt. Since I live in their hometown, I wanted to find something unique. I found some including a few I had never seen before.
Check out this one from eBay listed by Stormcrow Vintage, HERE.
It had the standard Cheap Trick logo on the front.
The back was the interesting and unique part.
The description from the listing is...
"Vintage CHEAP TRICK ROCKFORD Illinois 1970s Event Concert T-Shirt tour T-shirt"
Now, I would like to know more about it. I have been to the Rue Marche in Rockford and it is a small place. I do not think they could have a Cheap Trick show in the bar. Even in the 70s. So, what is this from?
Though it is a cool shirt, I do think $449 is a little bit too much money for my budget.
If you know anything about the shirt and event, please let me know. I would love to know the story behind it.
