The Winnebago County coroner's office now has identified the two fatality victims in last night's shooting. The female has been ID'd as 22-year-old Tirina Mitchell of the Rockford region. The male has been identified as 28-year-old Benito Martinez of the Rockford region. Cause of death for both fatality victims in listed as multiple gunshot wounds.

Two people are dead after a shooting on Rockford's west side.

The Winnebago County Coroner's office confirms the deaths of one male and one female following an incident Tuesday night in the 700 block of Oakley Avenue.

Rockford Police were initially called to Oakley Avenue around 11:30 p.m. following a report of shots fired. Arriving officers found a male lying in the street. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to a press release, during the course of the investigation officers learned that a dark colored SUV was seen leaving northbound on Oakley Ave.  A short time later the vehicle was located at Knight Avenue and Edgemont Street. A female victim was located in the SUV suffering from gunshot wounds and later died from her injuries.

The names of the fatality victims have not been released.

A third victim, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was also located and is being treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth victim also later arrived at a hospital. He also was suffering from a gunshot wound and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
