As long as I can remember, tacos have always been one of my favorite foods. Growing up, my dad made them every Tuesday for dinner. Though I'm a big fan of Taco Tuesday, tacos are good any day of the week and any time of the day.

I'm always on the lookout for the next great taco. When I used to hang out in Chicago a lot, I had some of my favorite places to eat tacos. We're lucky here in Rockford because there are lots of delicious taco joints to choose from. Even when I'm out of town, I'm hoping to try some new ones.
I bet you didn't know this but Wisconsin has some pretty good tacos too, especially in the Beloit area. That means the state line is the perfect spot for taco lovers with so many great places to check out. The question is, who has the best tacos?
Well, we'll finally get a chance to find out this summer because Beloit is hosting the Taco Takedown. The event is happening on Saturday, August 10th from 3 pm to 9 pm in their cool downtown area. Taco vendors from all over the state line area will be competing for the best taco championship.
Of course, this celebration will also feature plenty of ice-cold beverages, live music, and if you dare a jalapeño eating contest. I've already got this amazing festival added to my calendar because I don't want to miss it. I can't wait to try all the yummy tacos.
