No matter how big or small the business in Illinois, there is some sort of technology involved. Especially when it comes to security systems. It would be very difficult to commit a crime in a public location without getting caught on camera.

That's why it surprises me so much that people will try to break the law, and they know darn well that there are security cameras all over the place. Some of these criminals will even attempt to steal from their place of employment, which is a really bad move. I guess they believe they're that good with crime.
Recently, an employee of a gas station in the Joliet area was arrested for stealing Illinois Lottery tickets. That's an epic fail. Besides all of the security throughout the store, the business keeps up with the accounting of those scratch-offs and more. There was no way this mystery was going to be unsolved. Now the ex-employee is headed to jail.

A 39-year-old Joliet woman who worked at the Speedway Gas Station at 1621 West Jefferson Street was arrested by Joliet police in connection with two counts of felony theft.
According to Wednesday's arrest report, Shanika Gray is suspected of stealing at least $1,400 in Illinois lottery tickets during her time on the clock at the gas station.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:03 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to Speedway gas station in reference to a reported internal theft involving lottery tickets.
