Some Illinois Companies Could Start Charging Employees For NOT Being Vaccinated
What would you think if your employer started deduction money from your check monthly, if you weren't vaccinated? Whoa, is this where we are?
While some companies and organizations have offered a little "bonus" or kickback for getting your vaccinations, there's a nasty flipside to this that could hit home very soon. FORBES
Mercer, a LARGE employee benefits consultancy that deals with thousands of employees world wide, says that there are companies that are planning on going as far as taking $50 from your paycheck if you aren't vaccinated. What??? Check this out:
“Employers have tried encouraging employees to get vaccinated through offering incentives like paid time off and cash, but with the Delta variant driving up infections and hospitalizations throughout the country – at the same time that vaccination rates have stalled – we have received inquiries from at least 20 employers over the past few weeks who are giving consideration to adding health coverage surcharges for the unvaccinated as a way to drive up vaccination rates in their workforce" - Wade Symons, Mercer’s regulatory resources group leader
What would you do if your employer approached you with this type of situation? Get your vaccination shots or you OWE US $50 a pay period?
Now Mercer isn't releasing the names of the companies that are doing this, but if this giant benefits company is seeing this happening...it will go down for sure.
Some big name global companies, like Facebook and Google are REQUIRING employees to get their vaccinations....or NO return to the office. Could your company be next?
