The building that was home to the controversial club, State Street Station, has been torn down.

I don't make it a habit of driving on the busy main streets in Rockford. I usually take the backroads to avoid congestion. For some reason, yesterday, I decided to cruise down East State Street in the "Miracle Mile" area.

Then, I noticed something surprising. The former State Street Station building was gone.

The gentleman's club has been closed for a while now and the establishment remained vacant. Recently, the city waived some unpaid fines that were preventing the property from being developed. Soon after, it was announced that the building would be torn down and a new restaurant would go in.

Even though I knew it was coming, it still took me by surprise. I'm glad to see the location being converted into something positive.

I always thought it was hilarious that is was across the street from Chuck E Cheese.

Do you have any memories of State Street Station?
