Word on the street is that these guys are pretty good.

A new Northwoods League record was tallied by the Rockford Rivets Sunday afternoon.

28 runs in a game is pretty impressive but some of these details might be even more impressive.

They took their foot off the gas. They scored their 28th run in the 7th inning. Taking the 8th inning easy because they didn't want to embarrass anyone.

Some of the personal stats are even better than crazy video game numbers. Look who they had to choose between for player of the game:

Imagine going 3-5 with a home run and 8 RBI and NOT getting player of the game. Crazy numbers at Rivets Stadium on Sunday night.

Unrelated to this blog, you should be following the Rivets on Twitter. They do a great job of updating games as they're being played and their GIF usage is next level.

There are a few home games left. Take the family out to see some live professional baseball right here in Rockford. I promise you'll have a great time.
