I think we all can agree that the 1970s gave us some pretty cool styles and trends. My yearbook photos from then always showcase groovy Greg Brady-like wide collared, flowered shirts. And who didn't have a pet rock, poster of Farrah Fawcett and a prog rock album in their collection?

For me, Yes is the king of those bands. King Crimson, Genesis, and even early albums by Journey, Styx and Queen earned them some prog-rock cred. Rush could be thrown in there too I suppose. All of these bands feature great musicians and big sounds.

"Starship Troopers" from Yes is a prime long tune from their 1971 classic The Yes Album. The song is broken up into three separate suites and gives new guitarist Steve Howe a ton of room to play. Close the shades, put on the headphones and enjoy today's excursion into the Brizz Record Bin.
