When I was in college, I went on spring break a couple of times. One of those years, I went to Arizona. We were in Tucson, and since none of us had ever gone to Mexico, we decided to take a day trip. Border towns are definitely an interesting place to visit. There's nowhere else like it.

As we were wandering around a market, we were approached by a shady-looking guy who wanted to sell us tickets for a cock fight. Yeah, we took a hard pass on that opportunity.

That's the kind of place I would expect to hear about cock fighting. Definitely, not in Illinois, especially around the Chicago area. The thought of animals trained to fight each other disturbs me greatly. A couple recently got busted in Illinois.

According to Patch...

Two Oswego Township residents are accused of owning, training, and breeding chickens for sport fighting, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

 

Detectives recovered a "significant number of chickens" as well as evidence while executing a search warrant Tuesday, according to police.

 

 

The chickens are being cared for by Kendall County Animal Control, officials said.

I hope these two horrible human beings get sent to jail for a really long time. I can't believe there are people like that in our world, it doesn't matter where you live. Hurting animals on purpose is bad karma for sure.
