It's that time of year when the residents of Wisconsin start reporting bear sightings throughout the state.

Bear Spotted In Wisconsin

In our neighborhood in Rockford, we see a lot of animals, including turkeys, coyotes, foxes, ducks, squirrels, raccoons, and many more that I can't think of off the top of my head. It's nice to see wildlife out and about.

Luckily, there's one animal that I've never seen roaming around our block, and that's a bear. That one might freak me out a bit. It's funny because besides a zoo, I've never seen a bear in real life. As a kid, I remember being on vacation in areas where you can normally see bears, but we never had that experience.

Wisconsin is another place where you won't normally see bears in the wild, but recently, one was spotted in the Stoughton area. In fact, there have been multiple reports of a bear roaming around that part of the state. Apparently, it's been hanging out quite a bit lately.

According to WMTV...

Multiple people have reported sightings of a black bear roaming around the Stoughton area this week.

The Wisconsin DNR says it has been following reports of black bears in the southeast part of the state closely as of late, including a warden reporting a black bear on his doorbell camera around Pleasant Springs.

Bears are normally rare in this part of the state, but we do get individuals that travel through urban areas looking for an easy snack.

Experts say it's probably a young bear just trying to figure out its way. In the meantime, it got hungry and was looking for food. Going to town is the easiest way for a young bear to find something to eat. I'm sure the animal will move on soon. If you see a bear, remember to stay away, because they might look cute, but they're very dangerous.
