Krispy Krunchy Chicken In Champaign Is Hub For Stolen Goods
The Police in Champaign, Illinois discovers stolen items at fast food restaurant.
The owner of Krispy Krunchy Chicken in Champaign, Illinois was recently arrested.
According to news-gazette.com,
"It could be months before Champaign police are able to figure out the rightful owners of hundreds of stolen electronics recovered from a business owner accused of acting as a fence."
Kirit Patel would buy stolen items way below market value and resell them for a profit.
The items recovered from the fast food restaurant included cell phones, computers, digital cameras, bottles of designer cologne, TVs, hoverboards, cash registers, gaming systems, and stereo equipment. The total value was estimated at $75,000.
Criminals would bring "hot" merchandise into the restaurant for Patel to purchase. He would them to people in different countries.
I've heard of people trying to sell stolen goods at a pawn shop, but never at a fried chicken place.
I think this would actually make a good reality show.
