The sandwich chain worked with family friend Matt Alms to help plan the fundraiser. Jersey Mike's will be donating 25% of it's Monday and Tuesday sales to the Jaime Cox Memorial Fund. Alms went to the restaurant with just the hopes of getting a donation for Saturday's benefit, but they wanted to do more.

Jersey Mike's Marketing Operations Manager Brian Miller said that along with the coupon donation, he wanted to piggy back on a fundraiser and help out at more locations. Normally when they do a fundraiser they only raise money at the Rockford and Machesney Park locations. This time they included 7 other Illinois locations, including locations in Chicago. This is the biggest one they have done to date.

Miller said that he wanted to help the First Responders and show them they support them and all that they do for the community. The support hasn't gone unnoticed either. Alms says the efforts to let the Cox family know the community supports them has been heartfelt. He adds that the out pour from community still amazes him daily.
