Six days a week, 52 weeks a year, even when there's a Winter Storm Warning...on February we say "thank you" to our local mail carrier. This couldn't be a more perfect day for this national holiday.

Maybe you put a note and gift card in your mailbox. Can you shove a dozen cookies or a bottle of Tito's in there? Try it.

Today, Feb 4th is known as "National Thank a Mail Carrier Day."  The Pony Express rider coined this phrase:

“Neither rain, or snow, nor death of night, can keep us from our duty.” 

Years later the slogan changed to this:

“Through rain or snow, or sleet or hail, we’ll carry the mail. We will not fail.”

Either way man, geez, no kidding. Frozen rain, more snow, and freezing Rockford temps are no biggie for these men and women. A big thank you to all the mail carriers.

I miss my mail carrier, daily. Since moving into our new place I've yet to see him/her, so whoever you are....thank you! Here are some fun facts about the folks that bring us bills and an occasional birthday card: Calendar
