Illinois Family Devastated After Money From Cancer Benefit Goes Missing
"Disgusting" is the only word I can think of that won't get me into trouble for language. Let this be a warning, what you are about to read could be a trigger for anger.
We are all aware of how awful cancer is. If you're reading this you're more than old enough to at least know someone affected by cancer. Not only does that @#$%^ disease take a toll on the physical body, too many times it takes our loved ones too soon. Not to mention the grief that follows the painful loss of a loved one never lessens.
It's especially difficult when cancer attacks a child, something St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is working tirelessly to defeat.
Meet Ellie, who lives in Illinois. She's battling cancer as you're reading this article.
In late October a benefit was scheduled to raise money for her and her family while medical bills continue to build and build and build. The benefit included a motorcycle run from a bar in Gratiot, Wisconsin to a bar in Warren, Illinois, for both bikes and other vehicles to join as well as a silent auction. The benefit raised over $1,000 for Ellie and her family. Unfortunately, the money raised did not go to the family.
Local police in Wisconsin are now involved.
There is an active GoFundMe if you'd like to contribute to Ellie's fight.
