Law officials in Illinois announced that after a long investigation taking several years, the FBI in Chicago conducted a major drug bust on the south side of the city. With the arrests, the authorities were able to shut down two huge drug dealers in the Windy City. In cut off the supply lines to other states. The defendants have already appeared in court.

Twelve people have been charged after a federal drug trafficking investigation found they allegedly trafficked fentanyl-laced heroin and cocaine on the South Side of Chicago, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois said Wednesday.
Most of the defendants were arrested Friday or early this week, and have begun making initial appearances in U.S. District Court in Chicago.
