A man in Illinois made a series of bad decisions that would put him behind bars for a very long time.

Police Chase In Illinois

The incident happened early this week. The wheels were put in motion when a man from Chicago thought it would be a good idea the speed through the suburbs and not pull over for the cops. It was almost like he was trying to play a game of catch me if you can with the local police.

According to patch.com,

Some officers on patrol in Berkeley were sitting at a stoplight when they spotted a vehicle going way over the legal limit. The police report stated the suspect was traveling at 88 MPH in a 30 zone. The cops started pursuit but the driver refused to pull over. Then, the car crossed over into another town.

Another Illinois Town's Police Department Joins The Chase

The suspect then entered the city of Elmhurst. The police department from that town joined in on the chase. While trying to escape, the driver hit several other cars including a fire truck. There were several thousands of dollars worth of damage done to the rescue vehicle. The getaway mobile was wrecked so the man pulled in behind some buildings to hide.

Did You Order An Uber?

The driver took off on foot. When he thought he shook the police, he stopped and ordered an Uber to pick him up a couple of blocks away. Just as he was getting into his new ride, the police showed up and arrested him. That was a whole lot of work to end up in jail. Definitely not worth it.
