Rider training courses for motorcycles are returning, the Illinois Department of Transportation just announced.

This summer would have been ideal for riding motorcycles. First off, the weather was great. We had some heat and rain but nothing too unbearable. A chance to enjoy the outdoors for hours at a time. If you want social distancing, just hit the road on your bike.

Unfortunately, if you were new to the activity, there were no classes available to learn how until now. Some good news coming from the Illinois Department of Transportation Facebook page.

"Great news for motorcyclists of all skill levels: IDOT's rider training courses have resumed! Courses are administered all across the state."

I know several motorcycle enthusiasts and they all suggest taking it if you really want to take up the hobby. It's all about riding safely. In fact, it doesn't matter how long you've been doing it, there's always something new you can learn.

A few years ago, I actually took a course, Even though, I didn't end up getting my license, I found it an interesting learning experience.

If you've been thinking about giving it a try, check out more information, HERE.
