Unique Bowling Experience You Can Only Find In Wisconsin
Until I hurt my back several years ago, I was a big fan of bowling. I wasn't any good, but I enjoyed playing. I belonged to some leagues back in my younger days. My friends and I used to go all the time. It was something fun to do while we drank beer. Since I really can't play anymore, I haven't thought about the sport for a long time. Recently, I saw the show on HBO called "Born to Bowl." It brought back those great memories.

According to My Local Nooks Wisconsin...
Family-owned since 1978, this Milwaukee institution occupies an 1890 building that’s housed taverns continuously for over 135 years, with duckpin bowling lanes added in 1947.

Back in my 20s, I had friends who lived in Chicago. We liked to hang out at local dive bars. A couple of places actually had small bowling alleys inside. There were usually only a handful of lanes. The best part, they still had people working in the back who set up the pins. If you put $20 in one of the fingerholes, you were guaranteed to pick up the spare, with a little help.

I just read about a place in Milwaukee called Koz's Mini Bowl. They still have the teenagers in the back setting up the pins. This place is actually a part of history because it's the last original miniature duckpin bowling alley in the United States. That's pretty cool. They still even use the small wooden balls. By the way, they still have manual score keeping too.
